NIOS Exam Fees 2026 (March/April) – Latest Dates, Late Fees & Official Rules
The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has officially announced the exam fee payment schedule for the March/April 2026 Public Examination for Secondary (Class 10) and Senior Secondary (Class 12) courses.

NIOS Exam Fee Payment Dates (Official)
Without Late Fee

Exam Fee: ₹300 per subject
Practical Fee: ₹150 per practical subject

Important: No exam fee payment is accepted after 10 January 2026.
Practical Subject Fee
Learners appearing in subjects with practical components must pay ₹150 extra per subject along with the exam fee.
Senior Secondary (Class 12) – Two Year Gap Rule
NIOS mandates a minimum two-year gap between passing Secondary (Class 10) and appearing for Senior Secondary (Class 12).
- Without completing two years, only four subjects are allowed
- This includes already passed subjects
- Incorrect subject selection may cancel the exam form
September / October 2025 Learners
The exam fee schedule for learners registered for the September/October 2025 examination will be announced after declaration of results.
